Mangalore: Sufi M K Chishty, head priest (Gadinashin) of Dargah Sharif at Atodara, who is also the Chairman of Gujarat Haj Committee and Founder of Ummah international TV channel made sensational statements against the Congress during the talk organized by NaMo Brigade on the topic, ‘Modi and Muslims’ on Thursday December 26.

Sufi M K Chishty made supportive statements with regard to the BJP prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi and lashed out at the Congress-led UPA for working least towards the Muslim community.

With reference to the trial that started today at a local court in Ahmedabad on the Gujarat riots of 2002 and the involvement of Narendra Modi, Sufi M K Chishty said, “The Congress has ruled this country for more than 50 years, during which there were 11,000 riots in which a number of innocent Muslims and Hindus lost their lives, who is answerable for this he further questioned?

Sufi M K Chishty praised Modi for his dedication and deliverance towards his state and expected him to work towards the nation  likewise.

Slamming the Congress party Sufi M K Chishty said, “As reported by the Sachar Committee report, Congress has never provided opportunity for Muslims in the police department. But in Gujarat out of 47,000 police personnel, 5,000(10.6%) are Muslims. The Congress has been unnecessarily criticising  Modi terming him  an anti-Muslim.”

He concluded by saying, “Nowhere in the Quran or in Islam is there anything against Hinduism. Culture of  Hindustan flourished in the world. Hindustan is a peaceful nation.”

Chakravarthy Sulibele of NaMo Brigade welcomed the gathering while writer Mohammed Baddoor was present  among others.
