Mangalore: Dakshina Kannada district now has a new Deputy Commissioner. Adoor B Ibrahim took charge as DC on December 26, Thursday in the presence of several officials including Additional DC K Dayanand, MCC Commissioner Ajith Kumar Hegde, Assistant Commissioner Dr Prashanth and Tahsildar Mohan Rao.



Speaking on the occasion, Adoor B Ibrahim said he was well aware of the various issues concerning the district and promised to strive towards addressing the same. He also recalled that he had earlier served as Commissioner of MCC.
The new DC also informed that he will shortly convene a meeting in the presence of district in- charge minister, elected representatives and other officials to discuss various issues pertaining to the district.
Ibrahim replaces N Prakash, the erstwhile DC who has been transferred to Bangalore. Hailing from Kasargod, Ibrahim has served as Tahsildar at Kodagu. Later after passing the Civil Service Exam he was posted as deputy collector in Goa from 1988-1990. Ibrahim then joined KAS and was posted as a probationary officer at Karwar and even served in prominent posts in Hassan, Udupi, Uttara Kannada, Mysore, Dharwad, Gulbarga, Bangalore and other districts. He has also served KEONICS as its Administrative Officer.
