Unity March held on PFI Foundation day

Udupi: A huge procession participated by around 3000 PFI members and supporters was  taken out as part of  ‘Unity March’ followed by a convention to observe Popular Front of India (PFI) Formation Day  on Monday February 17.

The procession which commenced from Jodukatte  passed through K M Marg and service bus stand. The rally culminated at Kalsanka Royal Garden ground where the convention was held.

PFI National General Secretary K M Sharif addressed the gathering on the occasion. He said that atrocities on women, backward and minority classes are a curse to the society. More and more foreign industries are coming to the nation, but the poor is only getting poorer, he said.

He further alleged that if BJP comes to power atrocities will increase and it will not just be limited to Muslims but to all minorities.

Abdul Khader Puttur, Chief Secretary state PFI,  E Aboobakker Saheb, former national President of SDPI, and Mufti Mohammed Azam, state President of All India Muslim Council were the chief guests.

Deviprasad Shetty of JDS, Jayan Malpe, Ataulla Jokatte, PFI Mangalore President, Nisar Ahmed, PFI Udupi President, Fazil Ahmed and Asif Koteshwar were present.
