Newskarnataka – Udupi

Udupi: As many as 23 nominations were filed by 14 candidates from different political parties here for Udupi-Chikmagalur constituency at the end of the day for filing the nominations.

On the last day of filing nominations, Jayaprakash Hedge from Congress filed four nominations, whereas Shobha Karandlaje filed three nominations for the second time. Earlier she had filed one nomination on the first day. The other candidates who filed the nominations  on the last day are Sudheer Kanchan (Independent), Srinivas (Independent), Manjunath (Independent), M D Moeddhin (Independent),  B Dhananjaya (Independent) and C J Jagnath (CPI (ML) Red Star are among others.

The other candidates include Jhakir Hussein (BSP), Srikanth Acharya (Independent), Gurudev S T (Aam Aadmi party) and C J Jagnath (CPI (ML) Red Star, S Vijay Kumar from CPI, supported by left parties and independent candidate  Sunder Kumar have filed their nominations. Dhananjay Kumar from (JD(S) has filed two nominations.

Congress and BJP has filed four nominations each, JD(S), CPI, CPI (ML)  filed two nominations each BSP, AAP filed one each and seven independent candidates filed their nominations in Udupi-Chikmagalur Lok Sabha constituency.
