Karkala: Two persons died on the stop after their bike collided with a private bus near the Durga High School, Hirgan on the fringes of Karkala.

The deceased have been identified as 42-year-old Srinivasa Acharya and 25-year-old Sharath Nayak, residents of Muroor. The impact of the accident was such that several others on the bus also sustained injuries.

Reportedly, the driver along with the helper of the private bus service named Sapthagiri, fled before any action could be taken.

The bodies of the deceased were shifted to the government hospital. The police rushed to the spot, and a complaint has been registered.
