Tulunadu Samrakshana Vedika Convenes Meeting to Oppose Thermal Power Plant

Moodbidri:
Tulunadu Samrakshana Vedike, functioning in the limits of Kallamundkoor gram panchayat convened a meeting at Mahalingeshwar temple premises, Abbagadaraga, near moodbidri on Friday August 16 to devise strategy in opposing the proposed ultra mega thermal power plant in Niddodi, here.

Get Kisaan Card:

The displaced families of UPCL and other government-sponsored projects in undivided DK district failed to take legal battle against the authorities, because they lacked property documents.  It should not happen in Niddodi and its necessary for everyone to get Kisaan card at the earliest, said the local resident Shambavi Shetty.

Struggle Committee in Moodbidri zone:

Kallamundkoor gram panchayat president Joachim Correa said that the united struggle is essential to include the people living in Niddodi and neighbouring 12 villages.  The struggle would get further boost by forming struggle Committee in Moodbidri zone, said Joachim.

The zonal Raita Sangh president Dhanakirti balipa said that united struggle is essential by including everyone and hurried decision unjustified.  The groups should be formed along with sub Committees including village representatives and district-in-charge minister, in making an attempt to meet local MLAs and state ministers from undivided DK, in order to convince them to drop the proposed thermal plant in their neighbourhood.

It was noted that a few tiny farmers in Niddodi are willing to part away their lands and surveyors have arrived at Nekkare that lies on the boundary of Kallamundkoor gram panchayat and the farmers are trying to get title deeds for the lands from the district administration.

Massive automobile protest rally:

A massive automobile protest rally will be stated from Niddodi – Moodbidri – Mangalore, by the support of all Committees that were formed to oppose thermal power plant and a memorandum will be presented to Deputy Commissioner by a walkathon from Jyoti Circle, Mangalore.

Tulunadu Samrakshana Vedike honorary president K Varadaya Kamat, joint secretary Sudhakar Poojary, vice president Jayaram Poojary Mittunje, Sarvesh shetty, advisor Susheela, Mucchoor gram panchayat former president Durgadas Shetty, Kallamundkoor Milk Producers Union president Dinakar Shetty, Gangadhar K, Ashok Nayak, Jayaram Poojary, Lokesh Shetty, Valerian Sequeira, Sundar Bangera and othes were present on the occasion.
