Trio arrested for looting Chattanchal resident of Rs 5 lakhs

Kasargod : Kasargod police have arrested three persons  in connection with the case of looting a resident of Chattanchal of a cash of Rs 5 lakhs after throwing chilly powder on his eyes.

The arrested are Sameer OT of Kalikkadav Bheemanadi, Sirajuddin (36) of Charladka and PU Abdul Hakeem (23) of Nalamai. In the meantime, police said they are on the lookout for Farooq said to be the prime accused in the case.

The incident had taken place on June 8 at around 6 am  on the Cherkala Berka Road. The gang of four   which came by a bike intercepted CH Abdul Jaleel (40) while he was on way to meet his brother Ummar to  hand him over the cash of Rs 5 lakh which he was carrying in a plastic bag. The assailants removed his helmet, threw chilly powder on his eyes and fled with the cash.

By the time locals gathered on hearing his screams, the assailants had made good their way. A police team led by Kasargod Circle Inspector  had investigated the case.
