Kushalanagara: As the torrential rains are witnessed across Kodagu district, the key dams – Harangi and Chiklihole are already full and gushing out , which might be the delight of thousands of tourists who are arriving in large groups from across the state and neighbouring states. Harangi dam was full a week ago and 22,400 cusecs of water is released from the dam which gushes out in full and is a rare treat indeed.
Chiklihole dam: situated at Rangasamudra near Suntikoppa:
Chiklihole dam is already full, while it is the smallest dam among the key dams located in Cauvery valley. The excess water flows around the half-moon shaped barrier wall that attracts tourists from all over the country. It has no crest gates, instead a large hole. The dam has a height of 72.8 meter and has the capacity to store 0.18 TMC of water.
