Mangalore : The much awaited Kannada comedy movie “Challa Pilli” having former CM DV Sadananda Gowda in a guest appearance, has hit the silver screens. The formal launching ceremony was held at Jyothi Theatre on July 5, Friday. Nalin Kumar Kateel, MP of Mangalore, lighted the lamp marking the release of the film. The film is produced under the banner Shine City Productions.

In his address, Nalin said he was happy to note that a young director from Mangalore had ventured into making this comedy film and wished  that the film would be a super hit. He urged the people of the district to come  to the theatre and watch the film.

The film cast including Vijaya Raghavendra, Aishwarya Nag, Naveen D Padil, Shivamanju, Bhojaraj Vamanjoor, Aravind Bolar, Shobharaj were also on the dais.

Among others present were JD(S) leader Sadananda Suvarna and  Sudesh Bhandary, film producer.
