Mangaluru: The body of Prabha Arun Kumar, a Bengaluru-based 41-year-old techi, who was stabbed to death in a suburb near Sydney last week, reached Amtoor village, which is 40 km from Mangaluru.

Prabha’s husband, G. Arun Kumar and other family members accompanied the body.
Earlier, the body was taken to Prabha’s nephew’s house in Chandra Layout in Bengaluru where her colleagues, friends and public paid homage. Later, tThe body was brought to the city by a special chartered flight.
Family members will be paying condolences and conduct other rituals for about an hour. Subsequently, the body will be kept for sometime for public viewing and the last rites would be performed at around 5 p.m.
Prabha is the daughter of progressive farmer Mahabala Shetty and Sarojini, residents of Amtoor. She did her education in Mangaluru and Sullia. Prabha was married to Arun Kumar 12 years ago, and their daughter Meghana stays with her father in Bengaluru. She was sent to Australia three years ago on a project from MindTree, leading IT company in Bengaluru, where she was employed. She was scheduled to return in April this year.
