Taxi driver survives in Tree Branches Fall

Bantwal: The branches of a tree that is dotting the national highway 75 at Bastipadpu that comes under the limits of B Mooda village fell on a moving taxi, here on Wednesday June 26.  The taxi driver Suleiman miraculously escaped in the mishap.


Suleiman, a native of Bantwal was driving his taxi to B C Road (where central taxi stand located), here at about 7.30am on Wednesday, when the branches of a huge tree fell.  There were no passengers at that time.

The revenue department officers visited the location.

The locals complain that several branches of huge trees located besides the road at Bastipadpu are dried and can fall at any time.  Despite several pleas to PWD officials, no actions have been taken to clear the imminent danger at the earliest. It indeed poses threat to thousands of road users including students.
