Mangalore: Gonzaga School celebrated the second monthly project Green-Queen , on Vanamahotsava , held yesterday in Loyala Hall, Mangalore.
St Aloysius College Associate Professor Dr Roseveera Dsouza was the chief guest of the event. She addressed the students and explained about the emotional bonding between the trees and children . She also gave a message to the children to plant a sapling if they have place at home and spend at least half an hour with it every day.
Students showcased their talents by singing a song on Vanamahotsava , danced to the rhytm of the song on Mother Earth. The parents of Kindergarten section presented 23 fruit bearing saplings which where symbolically planted by the Chief guest,Principal Grace Noronha and School Manager Fr Elwis Lewis.
Students sowed vegetable seeds in the pots to show their intrest in nurturing nature.
