Kasargod : There was  curiosity as well as tension in the air at Shiriya in Kumble  onJuly22, Monday when  gas containers were  washed ashore, Police officials along  with bomb detection   squad  personnel rushed  to the spot following   fears   that there might  be  some  explosive device inside it.

Sources revealed that the containers could  hold as much as 24,000 litres of refrigerated gas. But,it is  not  yet sure if the containers were  full  or  empty.  As news of   the  containers  washing   ashore spread like  wild   fire hundreds of people arrived at the beach.

Since the past few days several goods like refrigerators and footballs were being washed ashore. It is not yet clear as to from where  these goods were beinb  washed ashore. It is   learnt that  the police department had sought  the help of the intelligece wing in investigating  the  case.
