Mangalore: After a dispute outraged during a protest, between the Street Vendors Association and the Central Market Merchants Association on Saturday January 4, the market seemed dull and out of people on Sunday January 5.

Being a Sunday, generally the market is filed up with people as there is no space to even walk, but the jam-packed areas of the central market appeared monotonous with very few. Usually the shops are closed on Sunday but the number of street vendor as well where comparatively less.
Earlier the Central Market Merchants Association on Saturday embarked upon the task of evacuating the street vendors. A rigid conflict worsened things and the street vendors also started a counter-protested.
A clash evoked and few members of both the Associations were taken into custody by the police.
