Bangalore: A mother and her 14-month-old twins were found dead under inexplicable circumstances in their house at Srinivasa Nagar on Saturday January 5 in the wee hours.

The deceased has been identified as 33-year-old, Asha along with 14-month-old her daughters Ahana and Aradhya, who accordingly to her husband 38-year-old Harish jumped into an over-head tank of their four-storage apartment.

On the other hand Asha’s sister Lakshmi has alleged the death to be a murder and suspects Harish in her stamen to the police, as she claimed that Harish used to pester Asha for dowry. Although as per her sister Harish was given 2 lakhs and gold jewelry during their wedding.

With reference to the incident Asha’s sister said that she had received a call around 12.30 am. from Harish. He told her that Asha and the twins were lying dead in the overhead water tank. Lakshmi and her husband Praveen, who live in Electronics City, reached Asha’s house around 1.30 am, but found the three bodies on the bed.
It is learnt that Harish had lost a huge sum in one of the betting due to which he kept blaming the birth of girl children in his house, thus quarrel between the couple would usually rise off. According to Laxmi it may have intended Harish to murder his family.

Probe perspective

Police have yet to crack the case as the medical reports are awaited. A senior official involved in the investigation said committing suicide by jumping into an overhead tank would have been difficult as the spiral stair are too narrow and carrying two babies along is hard.

Moreover he also said that the tank was 4.5 feet high where as Asha was taller by at least a foot and it was doubtful whether she drowned in the tank, which was not even full to the brim.
