Bangalore: With an urge to enhance the education rate among girls the state government has initiated a scheme of giving each girl child Rs two a day for attending Class 1 in Karnataka government schools.
Addressing the reporters after the cabinet meeting State Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister T B Jayachandra said that under a state scheme aimed at increasing enrolment in government-run schools, the scheme will be effective in the coming days and would entail an expenditure of Rs 4.49 crore.
Adding to the details he also spoke about “Anna Bhagya scheme” and said that the cabinet has decided to increase the distribution for BPL card holders living in North Karnataka.
