Bangalore:The state government was seriously contemplating to cancel the second Saturday holiday to its employees.

The cabinet meeting held on October 11, Friday held discussions  in this regard. The cabinet is likely to take a decision after discussing the pros and cons of the same.

Sources said Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has told  his cabinet colleagues that  an immediate decision need not be taken and that  the matter may be considered in the coming days. The state government has decided to give a total of 22 government  holidays during 2014. The cabinet has approved the decision.
