Mangalore:Passengers travelling in a private express bus from Byndoor to Mangalore, had a miraculous escape when the bus which suffered a brake failure hit against an electric pole near Nantur Circle on October 11, Friday evening.

The mishap took place at around  7.25 pm when the bus was proceeding on  a slope from Nantur Circle towards Mallikatta. The bus driver who realized that there was a brake failure, had tried his level best to avert a major mishap on the busy road and managed to stop the bus after hitting it to an electric pole.Luckily no one was hurt. A jeep which was parked near the electric pole too was damaged in the mishap.

The accident disrupted traffic on the Nantur-Mallikatta route.
