State Bank of Mysore celebrates its Centenary Year Day

Mangalore:State Bank of Mysore celebrated its Centenary Year Day here today which held a Centenary Walk from Alake to Hampankatta at Mangalore.

 

State Bank of Mysore was founded by Nalwadi Krishnaraja Wodeyar Bahadur and notable Indian engineer, scholar, statesman and the Diwan of Mysore Sir M Misvesvaraya, on October 2, 1913.

The procession was inaugurated by Dr Shikaripura Krishnamurthy, retired professor and a senior customer of the Bank. He has acted in the famous kannada film Koormavatara which was directed by Girish Kasaravalli.The staff including the family members and the customers of city and nearby branches participated in the procession.

The centenary programme held at Dakshina Kannada District Government Employees Association hall.In the inaugural speech, Dr Shikaripura Krishnamurthy advised to adopt principles which Gandhiji had followed and also visions of notable scholar Sir M Visvesvaraya.He advised the Bank staff members to continue rendering excellent customer service.

The Bank felicitated its 14 customers of Mangalore city and nearby branches.

M R Jayesha, deputy general manager, Mangalore zone presided over the function.  While Ranganath welcomed the gathering, Attur Chaiyabba rendered the vote of thanks. The programme was compered by S Sringeswara Sharma, assistant general manager. S Venugopal, assistant general manager-LCPC and U Diwakara Poojary, assistant general manager-CPPC Yogesh Karkera, zonal secretary, SBM Officers Association and Devadas Pai, joint secretary of SBM Employees Union were present during the occasion.
