SSLC results: Udupi slips to 16th position

Udupi : Udupi district which stood third in the state by registering a 87.68 pass percentage in the SSLC results of last year, has this time slipped  to the 16th position with a pass percentage of 85.36.

Of the total 15,556 students (7579 boys and 8977 girls) who appeared for the exams in the district, 13279 (6823 boys and 6456 girls) have passed.  Of them 1501 have passed in distinction, 6048 in first class and 2808 in second class.

Rural students outshine urban students:  The rural students have gained an upper hand when compared to the urban students. As far as urban students are concerned, out of the 3529 who had appeared, 3042 have passed registering a pass percentage of 86.2 while in case of rural area students, of the 11027 students who appeared for the exams, 10237 have passed thus registering a percentage of 92.8.

A total of 36 schools have registered cent percent results. Of these five are government schools, 2 aided schools and 29 unaided schools. Last time, 55 schools  including 14 government, 6 aided and  35 unaided schools have registered 100 per cent results.

The top scorers : The top scoring students are Bhargavi (618) of Venkatramana English Medium High School, Shahari Shetty (616) of the same school and Harshith D (615) of TA Pai English Medium School.
