Spl meet in district to clarify doubts on Ettinahole Project : CM assures Vedike

Belthangady : Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has said that a special meeting would be convened under the leadership of the Deputy Commissioner to  clarify the doubts in the minds of the general public regarding the proposed Ettinahole Project.

The Chief Minister gave this assurance to a  delegation of the  Belthangady Taluk Hitarakshana Vedike which met him on September 29, Sunday.  The Chief Minister said the government had no  intention of diverting the course of Netravathi River. He also clarified that the Ettinahole Project only aimed at  providing  a permanent solution to the drinking water problems  of Kolar district.

The delegation was led by Pratap Sinha Nayak, the Vedike President who is also the District BJP Chief.

State Ministers Ramanatha Rai, UT Khader, Abhayachandra Jain, Vinaykumar Sorake and Belthangady MLA Vasanth Bangera too joined the Vedike in making the appeal.

The Vedike delegation included Peethambar Heraje, Yogish Kumar KS, Dhananjaya Rao,  Dhanakeerthi Ariga, Keshava Belalu, Rajashekhar Ajri, Harish Kumar and others.

Govt hospitals will be equipped with all modern amenities: CM

Ujire :  “The State Government would take steps to see that all modern medical facilities are available  in government hospitals for the benefit of the general public,” said Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.

He was speaking after inaugurating a 200 bed SDM  Hospital  constructed at Ujire at a cost of about Rs 4 crores by the Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala Medical Trust on September 29, Sunday. He said  dialysis centres would be opened at taluk headquarters  for the benefit of the poor. All efforts would be made to secure compensation to Endosulfan affected people, he said.

Dr D Veerendra Heggade, Dharmadhikari of Dharmasthala who spoke on the occasion said the hospital has been set up to ensure that  even the last person in the society got good health care facilities. Free check up and medicines will be offered to out-patients, he informed.

State Ministers Ramanatha Rai, UT Khader, Vinaykumar Sorake, Abhayachandra Jain, MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, MLA Vasanth Bangera, TP President Keshava M,  GP Chief Balakrishna Gowda, D Surendra Kumar, LIC Senior Manager Y Vishwanath Gowda and others were present.
