Blueprint Prepared to build homes to Shanty Dwellers: Minister Ambarish

Mandya: The blueprint has been prepared to build houses to shanty dwellers in the city, said state housing and district-in-charge minister Dr M H Ambarish.

The minister Ambarish was speaking after laying motion to second phase of development works under Nagarottana project of Karnataka which was aimed at developing basic infrastructure facilities in small and medium towns and cities.

He further said that there has been delay in executing the project owing to municipal elections, but efforts will be made to complete the works at the earliest, said minister Ambarish.

Under the Nagarottana project, the road works and underground drainage will be developed.  Out of the total of Rs 23 crore allocated, Rs 6 crore has been reserved to undertake underground drainage works, and the rest will be utilized to develop roads, added minister Ambarish.

Under the said project, Rs 5 crore each has been allocated to each municipality and town panchayat in Mandya district.  The development works will be speedily undertaken in such cities and towns, said minister Ambarish.
