Mangalore : The Billawa Mahila Sangha and the Akhila Bharatha Billawara Union jointly organized a programme called “Aatida Tammana Bokka Maavaadigeda Lace” at Ravindra Kalabhavan of University College on August 4, Sunday.



Inaugurating the programme in a traditional way, state Urban Development Minister and Udupi District Minister Vinaykumar Sorake said Tuluvas should never forget their roots and should always give top most priority towards protecting and preserving their culture and traditions which are unique in their own sense.
He was also appreciative of the Billawa Mahila Sangha and Billawa Union for organizing the programme which goes a long way in enlightening Tuluvas on Aati traditions of Tulunad.
Naveenchandra D Suvarna, President of Akhila Bharatha Billawara Union, presided over the function. Sunil Kumar, Legislator of Karkala was the chief guest. Dr Yogish Kairodi, Lecturer in Alva’s College, gave a talk on the significance of Aati tradition.
Sumalatha N Suvarna, President of Billawa Mahila Sangha and Mohandas Mugila, General Secretary of the Union were also on the dais.
