Mangalore : St Christopher association (a association of christian drivers and vehicle owners) had their 46th general body meeting at Rosario Cultural Hall at Rosario Church Mangalore.
The Christian vehicles owners with the patron and member of the association Rt, Rev.Dr.Aloysius Paul Dsouza offered Holy Mass at Rosario cathedral church. He is co celebrated the mass with Fr J.B. Crasta, Fr. Alwyn D Souza.
After the Holy Mass more than 500 vehicles which include cars, tempo, scooters, bikes of the members are blessed by bishop sprinkling Holy water on them, he was accompanied by honorary president Susheel Noronha, President Victor Menezes , Secretary Herald D Souza, Vice Secretary Denis D’ Souza and Raymond Dcunha.
The function was continued with a general body of the association presided by Mangalore Bishop Rt. Rev Dr,Aloysius Paul D Souza and Chief guest of the function is Walter D Souza.
Speaking on the occasion Bishop said there is nothing more in this association but love to the daily bread earners to their family by dirving a vehicle and the hardest job of the day. May God bless their way as the Patron saint of the association St. Christopher transported the Lord himself on his shoulder, as per the Story.
Chief Guest Walter D Souza said to raise the membership and make the purpose of the association published, so that there will be a lesson to all by this members of good behavior in driving.
The 15 achievers of the community who are association members and children of members are been honored by the Bishop and Chief guest.
The new treasurer and spiritual director Fr. J.B Crasta has been welcomed and gave the charge of the post by Bishop, President Victor Menezes welcomed, secretary Herald D Souza read the yearly report and financial report, joint secretary Denis D Souza voted thanks, Leena D souza and Raymond D’ Cunha compared.
Honorary President Susheel Noronha conducted new executive members and new office bearer’s election. Vice President Francis D Souza, Catholic Sabha President Neizel Periera, AICU vice president Lancy D’ Cunha, ,MACCO Society President and Vice Presidents were present
