Sorake pulls up officials for failure to solve water problem

Karkala :District in-charge Minister and State Minister for Urban Development Vinay Kumar Sorake rapped the officials for failing to solve the drinking water problem faced by various parts of the district, despite a clear cut directive in this regard.  It is learnt, the officials present at the meeting, later assured the minister that they would strive their level best to mitigate the water problem.

Speaking at the meeting, Sorake made it clear that there was no shortage of grants for implementation of drinking water problem and said the need of the hour is for the officials to discharge their duties sincerely.

The Minister also made it a point to the officials to translate their words into deeds within the next ten days. He said another meeting would be convened to discuss the issue after ten days.

The minister further informed that steps would be taken to ensure that the bills of the water tankers which supply water to various places are duly settled.

The minister also openly aired his resentment against the TP Executive Officer Chennappa Moily and asked him to keep the PDOs  under his control lest he would face suspension. During the meeting the minister also ordered the suspension of the Marne GP PDO for abstaining from the meeting without any valid reason.

V Sunil Kumar, MLA presided over the meeting. TP Chief Rashmi Shetty, Karkala TMC  President  Rehmath N Sheikh, Kundapur AC Yogishwar, ZP Deputy Secretary, Pranesh Rao and others were present.
