Mangalore :The DK District unit of the BJP lodged a complaint with the District Superintendent of Police Dr Sharanappa on Saturday May 3 alleging that the Police Department had completely failed to maintain law and order in the district.

The complaint also mentioned about the Police Department failure to prevent cattle slaughter, cattle theft, dacoity, thefts and crime against women, It further referred to the attack on toll gate and the false case registered against political activists.
The party has demanded a thorough investigation into the Derlakatte incident wherein two medical students were kidnapped, forced to have sex and then blackmailed. It even urged for an intensive probe into the case of missing of young women. Alleging that some BJP workers have been fixed in false cases due to political pressure, the party has demanded suitable action in this regard.
Capt. Ganesh Karnik, MLC, S Angara, MLA, Krishna Palemar, former minister, Yogish Bhat, former MLA, Rukmaya Poojary, Sulochana Bhat, Satish Prabhu, Shantha R, Sanjay Prabhu, Kasturi Panja, G Anand Bantwal and others were in the BJP delegation which met the SP.
