Mangalore: Congress President Sonia Gandhi will be visiting Mangalore on April 25 to campaign for the party in the wake of upcoming Assembly elections She will participate in a public meeting in Mangalore on that day.
Informing this to reporters here on April 20, Saturday, Ivan Dsouza, District Election Committee Convenor, said Sonia will address a public meeting at Nehru Maidan that day. He said the local unit of the Congress was confident that the visit of Sonia would boost the morale of the party.
He said senior leader Oscar Fernandes will campaign for three days in Mangalore beginning from Sunday. Commenting on the Election Manifesto of the BJP, he said the BJP which five years ago released an election manifesto named Sankalpa and then failed to stick to its promises, has now come up with another manifesto named Vikasa at a time when the party s coming to power itself was doubtful.
Several Congress leaders including interim District President Kodijal Ibrahim, former mayor Ashraf and others were present.
