Bantwal: Three shops in a building at BC Road Kaikamba were gutted in a fire mishap  on  April 20, Saturday afternoon.

The building owned by one Sureshchandra Shetty had  Sapna traders, a cushion shop,   Sanjeeva Clinic and another shop which were gutted.

The cushion shop has incurred a loss of Rs 2 lakhs with several cushion materials, sofas etc destroyed. Two fire brigade vehicles from Mangalore and one from Bantwal extinguished the fire with the help of public. The task  of extinguishing the fire took more time owing to the presence of a large number  of  public in the area.
