Mangalore: BJP National Vice President and former chief minister DV Sadananda Gowda has come down heavily on Union Minister Veerappa Moily for his comments that he felt ashamed to introduce himself as the former CM of Karnataka.
Speaking to reporters at the District BJP office on April 20, Saturday, DVS said he was proud to say that he had served Karnataka as the chief minister of 6 crore Kannadigas.
On Moily being ashamed to introduce himself as from Karnataka, Sadananda Gowda questioned whether Moily wasn’t ashamed of the several scams in which the UPA Government was involved.
On the BJP’s election strategy, DVS said the party is going to the people and seeking votes in the name of development. Admitting that there was confusion, he clarified that the internal conflicts however have not come in the way of development.
Stating that the BJP has given priority to youth candidates in the upcoming elections by fielding young candidates from Belthangady, Bantwal and Moodbidri, Gowda questioned as to what the Congress has done. Gowda also stated that the Gujarat CM Narendra Modi may visit the state on April 28-29.
BJP Mangalore South candidate Yogish Bhat, MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, actress Tara, Capt Ganesh Karnik, Monappa Bhandary, MLCs, Srikar Prabhu and others were present.
