Kundapur: Sulse in Hemmadi village was in shock and grief on December 19, Thursday over the suicide of a father and a son within a matter of a few hours.
The deceased are Krishna Mogaveera (73) and his son Sukesh (28). Mogaveera’s body was found near the Janatha School at Hemmady on December 18, Wednesday. It is learnt, he had committed suicide by consuming some pesticide. The family and police noticed the body during a search launched for him after Mogaveera who was admitted to a hospital in Kundapur and was supposed to be discharged on Wednesday, went missing. Sources said he was under treatment for stomach pain.
It is learnt, Sukesh was mentally disturbed and agonised over his father’s sudden death. Even as relatives had gathered at home and arrangements were underway for the last rites of Krishna Mogaveera, Sukesh all of a sudden jumped into the well in front of the house.
The body was retrieved from the well by fire service personnel.
