Mangalore:  Two persons have been arrested in connection with the damage caused to several banners depicting Congress leaders including party vice president Rahul Gandhi in and around the city.

Those arrested are 28-year-old Chetan and 24-year-old Pravin, both residents of Edapadavu. The arrests were made on the basis of the complaint lodged by Gurupur Block Congress President Prathviraj R K.

The Congress has alleged that around 50 banners put up in various places have been damaged. The banners were hung by Vijayanath Vittal Shetty and were titled ‘Namma Rahul Gandhi.
