Mangalore : The parents of a school boy named Sohan who had reportedly drowned in the Mangalore City Corporation Swimming Pool on October 25, have lodged a complaint with Mangalore Police Commissioner suspecting that their son was murdered.

In a complaint with the Commissioner, Sohan’s father HD Somashekhar said that as Sohan was a member of the MCC Swimming pool since 2008, it was difficult to believe that he had drowned in the pool. “Some students had hatred against Sohan who was studying in eighth standard in Amritha Vidyalaya and was a talented student. Sohan used to tell me that Tejas, Sriman and two others were troubling him,” the complaint said.
It further said so “ It has been learnt that Tejas, Sriman and two others were in the pool when Sohan died. Sohan’s cheeks and edges of his eyes had marks of blood clot. I had complained to the SI and Barke police suspecting the cause of Sohan’s death. But they had registered an FIR mentioning this as an accidental death.” Sohan’s father has further blamed Sriman, Tejas and two other boys as well as the MCC swimming pool officials and life guards for the death of his son.
“The post mortem report states that there was blood clot around the eyes. This makes it clear that he did not die due to drowning. Had he drowned there was no question of blood clot around the eyes. Sohan was a good swimmer. There was no chance of him drowning. My son was murdered in a pre-planned conspiracy. This case should be probed as a murder case,” Somashekhar has appealed in his complaint.
The appeal to the Police Commissioner has also requested to initiate legal action against Ajith Kumar Hegde, MCC Commissioner who is in-charge of the swimming pool, the MCC Health officer Manjayya Shetty, swimming pool manager Ramesh, Life Guards Pundalika Kharvi, Sunder, Rajendra and Tukaram Kharvi.
