Mangalore : There is information that senior Congress leader B Janardhan Poojari and several other leaders have openly aired their resentment against the proposed Anti-Superstition Bill, during a public function attended by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah at Bajpe in the outskirts of Mangalore on November 11, Monday. The CM had arrived in the city to participate in the Brahmakalashabhisheka programme at Guru Narayana Mandir at Bajpe.
The main reason for the confusion was the CM’s recent statement that the draft copy of the Bill will not be tabled at the Belgaum session and the more recent statement of Law Minister TB Jayachandra that the draft copy was ready and that it will be tabled at the Belgaum session.
It is learnt the Chief Minister has assured the leaders that the Bill will be tabled only after discussions.
