Mangalore :  State Health and Family Welfare Minister UT Khader has accused the  BJP of resorting to a malicious propaganda against him by charging him of using his political clout to sanction a BDA  site allotted to the Kukke Subrahmanya Temple Trust to a Trust run by his brother.

Speaking to media men here on March 27, Thursday,  Khader said the BDA site in Banashankari fourth block and 6th Stage was reserved for an  institution of physically and mentally challenged persons. But the Subrahmanya Temple Trust had applied for the site for construction of an information centre. However as it did not meet the criteria, it  was not allotted the  site which was instead allotted to UT Fareed Memorial Charitable Education Trust which is working for the cause of physically and mentally challenged persons.

He also made it clear  that he had no links with his brother’s Trust and the BJP MP candidate Nalin Kumar was unnecessarily making allegations.  “ Let the MP  visit the BDA office once to verify facts,” he challenged.

Ivan D’Souza, Congress spokesperson who spoke on the occasion, charged the BJP of trying to defame the Congress on the issue of religious sentiments and warned of a protest if the BJP continued such tactics.

District Youth Congress President Mithun Rai, Sadashiv Ullal, Murali Mohan and Gopal Shetty were present.
