Mangalore :  MLC Monappa Bhandary  has alleged that the Congress party was trying to render the district barren by planning to implement hazardous projects.

Addressing the media at the BJP Election office on March 27, Thursday,  he referred to the assurance of Congress candidate  Janardhana Poojari to implement PCPIR in the district if elected and  said the BJP had opposed the project in the past in the best interests of the district. But Poojari is now speaking about the implementation of the project once again in order to draw voters, he alleged.

The already implemented MRPL and MSEZ projects have failed to provide higher employment opportunities to  locals as promised, Bhandary pointed out and added  Poojari was  now cheating the people by stating that the PCPIR was needed to generate more employment.

Capt. Ganesh Karnik, MLC, Shakeela Kava, former deputy mayor, Diwaker Samani and others were present.
