Mangaluru: Factual errors committed by BJP MP Shobha Karandalaje in her letter written to Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on July 8 trying to draw light to the political murders in Karnataka, specifically targeting the Hindus has left her red-faced.
In her letter to the home minister, seeking an NIA probe into the killing of RSS activist Sharath Madiwal, Karandlaje had sent a list of 23 RSS and Hindu activists who were murdered in the state during the last four years of Congress rule.
But, what is shocking is that one person mentioned as dead in her letter is still alive and another was murdered due to family feud.
Ashok Poojary whose name is included at the top of the list sent by Shobha is still alive and he was shocked to know that his name was included among those dead.
“What? Who murdered me? I am still alive!” said a shocked Ashok Poojary(33) on knowing that he was included in the list of those murdered, by MP Shobha.
Ashok had survived an assault on him at Handelu in Moodabidri. Around six miscreamts had assaulted him and his friend on September 30, 2015. Though Ashok was hospitalized for over a month he is fine now.
Another name to feature on the list is that of Vaman Poojary, who was considered as a witness in the Prashant Poojary murder case, according to Shobha was murdered on September 20,2015. He however had committed suicide on October 15, 2015 in Moodbidri.
Interestingly, the letter also includes Karthik Raj’s name who was murdered on October 22, 2016 in Mangaluru. While the BJP had then claimed political vendetta in his killing, investigations later on revealed that he was murdered by his sister with the aid of her paramour and his brother.
