Shobha Karandlaje re-submits nomination

Udupi : The BJP candidate from Udupi-Chikmagalur Lok Sabha constituency Shobha Karandlaje, filed her nomination on Wednesday March 26 at District Election Office. She submitted the nomination papers to Deputy Commissioner Muddumohan.

Earlier the Udupi District BJP President Tingale Vikramarjun Hegde along with Shobha BJP had created a flutter by filing her nominations on the very first day of nominations, last Wednesday March 19. When asked  on her move, she said, “We wanted to make an official nomination in a grand way thus I am re-submitting.”

Addressing the media after filing the nomination Shobha Karandlaje said, “The constituency has the maximum numbers of women voters thus I am confident that I would win with majority votes at least by 1.5 lakhs of votes.”

With reference to  the allegations of corruption levelled by activist S R Hiremath, she said, “Now a days anyone can speak about anybody without evidence, thus I don’t need to give explanation to them. Moreover I am not answerable to the opposition.”

“The public of the district will answer this question, and my victory will say it all”, said a confident Shobha.

When questioned about the internal conflicts with regards to her  nomination and the criticisms from other party members, she said, “We are all united and there are absolutely no conflicts. The kind of support I enjoy is the best.”

Udupi District BJP President Tingale Vikramarjun Hegde, CT Ravi, Sunil Kumar,MLAs, Suresh Nayak, former MLA  and other member were present on the occasion.
