Kasargod : There is information that two Kasargod men are among the several on board  an oil laden  ship which has been held hostage by African pirates  near the West African Coast earlier this week.

The two from Kasargod are Babu(35) from Uduma Palakunnu and Vasanth Kumar (32) from Kalannadu. The ship named  MV Cotton was seized by the suspected African pirates very soon after it  left the Gabon coast. Latest information says it has been diverted towards Nigeria and that no communication is possible with  the ship and its crew and possibly the pirates have cut off communication links.

Till date there is no information of the demand of any ransom from the pirates. The ship owners, meanwhile have promised to do their level best to  see that the crew members of the ship are safe.
