Four held for selling Ganja

Udupi: The Padubidri police have detained  four persons for selling drugs (ganja) on Wednesday, July 17.

They have seized 460gm of ganja, which is worth Rs 15000 and have also recoverd four mobile phones, cash Rs 7,350 and thirty plastic covers from the accused. The arrested are identified as ,Shishir Suvarna alias Shishiya (20), who is the prime accused, and  a resident of Udupi, Zainuddin (39), a resident of Kasba Bengre, Mangalore, Hanif alias Rajesh (19), a resident of Kanchinadka, and Mohammed Ashfaq (20) of Moodu Palimar. They were produced to the court soon after their arrest.

As per laeds recived by the police, they have arrested Shishir Suvarna red-handed selling drugs in a bar at Padubidri.Later on after interrogation , Shishir releaved further information , and told about Zainuddin who supplies drugs to him .

Shishir works in a hotel, Hanif and Ashfaq work as a painter, while Zainuddin is a fisherman at Kasba Bengre port.

Zainuddin used to supply ganja to Padubidri and other places and there are cases against him in Panambur and Bunder police stations,informed the police.

Padubidri police inspector Mahadev Shetty along with his team led the operation. SI Suresh, Rajesh, Prashanth, Sunder, Wilfred, Santosh and others were part of the police team.
