Series of robbery in Ullal; valuables worth over Rs 2 lakhs stolen

Ullal :In a series of robbery which took place at Boliyar near here  on the night of Saturday August 9, cash and valuables worth over  Rs2 lakhs have been stolen from five shops. The thefts came to light on Sunday morning.

The  thieves who broke into the Shri Nidhi Jewellers owned by Narayana Achar have stolen valuables  including gold and silver worth Rs 1.5 lakhs including  27 grams of gold, silver and 1 gram gold ornaments. In another theft reported from  Shoe Bazar owned by Naufal, thieves have stolen  2grams of gold, silver and 1gram gold,Rs13,000 cash and sandals. In the third theft, cash of Rs 2000 was stolen from a saloon belonging to Sandeep.A cash of  10,000 each  was also stolen from the Chicken Stall belonging to Moosa Kunji and a shop owned by Keshav Bhandary has been stolen.

Thieves also made a vain bid to burgle Plywood shop of Majeed and Mahalasa Sweets next to Shri Nidhi Jewellers.
 
Konaje police have registered a case.
