Serial killer Cyanide Mohan Kumar convicted

Mangalore: The Fourth Additional District and Sessions Court has convicted serial killer Cyanide Mohan Kumar in the case of the murder of Anitha, on December 17, Tuesday. Judgements in two other murder cases of Sunanda of Peraje in Sullia and Leela of Vamadapadavu will be delivered by the court later in the day.

Mohan Kumar was convicted under sections 376, 328, 302, 392,301, 366, 394, 417, 465, 468 and 473 of IPC in the Barimar Anitha murder case.

The convict Mohan Kumar alias Ananda (46), a resident of Kanyana in Bantwal taluk had been serving as a teacher in a primary school near Angadi in Kanyana, on a temporary basis from 1980. He had quit his job in 2003 following which he took to crime and has allegedly killed as many as 21 young girls within five years. His modus operandi was to  befriend a girl, marry her and then kill her a day after the marriage by giving her cyanide tablet.
