Seasoned Burglars strike Houses in Vittal

Bantwal: The seasoned thieves of monsoon once again appeared in the villages that come under the limits of Vittal police station.The seasoned thieves made a failed attempt to rob a house located at Kambalabettu, near here on Sunday July 7, but tried to escape in movie-style even after they were nabbed by the neighbours.

The burglars tried to rob the house owned by Hameed who is in abroad and whose house is located near Kambalabettu Darga in Mudnoor village, near here, when his family has gone to their relatives house in Kerala on Sunday morning.  The family returned home at about 8.00pm when the robbery was came to light. Both the main door and rear door of the house were found broken and cupboards were ransacked.  When they were inside the house trying to recover from the shock, they heard the footsteps of someone running in the backyard.  When the family set an alarm, the neighbours managed to nab a local person – S K Mohammed and one of his accomplices. However, Mohammed and his accomplice managed to escape in a movie style running through the plantation.The thieves left behind a bag in the courtyard, which was full of fancy items including fake jewellery, iron-made accessories to break the doors and locks.

Vittal police arrived at the spot and intensified their search for the thieves.

The police suspect thieves were hailing from Kerala as a Maruti Swift car bearing registration plate of Kerala was parked in front of the house.  However, the driver drove off the car once he saw the household family arriving from a distance and parked a little away at Shantinagar, said the eyewitnesses.

A grocery shop owned by a certain Suleiman Pilipe located near Kundadka temple in Vittal Mudnoor village found Rs 25,000 missing from his shop on Monday July 8 morning.The door of the grocery shop was found broken.The shopkeeper Suleiman was in his shop till 10.30pm on Sunday.The burglars have struck the house possibly on Sunday late night.

Vittal police registered both the cases and investigations are under way.
