Mangalore : Abhayachandra Jain, State Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports, has made it clear that he was against the proposed ultra mega thermal power plant at Niddodi.


Addressing press persons after inaugurating a new market building at Kemral near Pakshikere in the outskirts of Mangalore on July 8, Monday, the minister promised to take up the matter with Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and also the Union Government.
Continuing, Abhayachandra said he in fact was the first leader of Moodbidri to oppose the project when it was proposed by the erstwhile Jagadish Shettar government. He also promised that he will ensure that the government dropped the project.
The inaugural function of the market at Kemral was also attended by Dakshina Kannada MP Nalin Kumar Kateel among others.
