SDPI stages Rasta Roko demanding road repair

Belthangady: A Rasta Roko and  protest was organised at Laila Junction here on December 23, Monday under the aegis of the Social Democratic Party of India’s Laila unit.

Swadiq Navoor, President of Laila unit of SDPI presided over the meet while  Akbar Belthangady,  President of Belthangady unit, Abdul Khader, District Secretary and Akbar Mat;a, Belthangady town committee president, addressed the protestors.

The agitators  condemned the apathy of the authorities to develop the road though it has been months since monsoon ended. Pointing out that the condition of Kolli Kajoor road  was in a bad shape, they demanded that the road should be developed and also widened.

The protest was withdrawn after PWD engineer Tauseef Ahmed arrived and accepted memorandum from the agitators.

Several SDPI leaders  Rahman Navoor, Usman Bangady, Usman Kumaraje, Javed Mura, Haneef Laila, Shabeer Putrabail, Basheer Putrabail. Swadik Laila Kuvettu, Mustafa, Zubair Maddadka and others participated in the protest.
