Mangalore: Under the leadership of former MLA Vijaykumar Shetty, the Netravati Rakshana Samiti staged a protest by blocking Hampankatta signal as they sat and shouted slogans against the government demanding to withdraw the Yettinahole project.

Addressing the protestors Vijaykumar Shetty, said, “I am overwhelmed that the whole district has stood-up against this unscrupulous act of diverting our Netravati River although on the other hand it is also sad that around 200 people have been arrested in Chikaballapura for protesting against the project.”
