Mangalore The DYFI and the Janavadi Mahila Sanghatane staged a huge dharna  near the Kulur Junction demanding handing over the Panjimogaru double murder of a mother and daughter to the CBI in the backdrop of the CID probe failing to make any headway. The agitators were wearing black badges as a mark of protest.

Addressing the protestors, Muneer Katipalla, District President of the DYFI, said the police department has failed to zero in on the killers despite several protests launched demanding a thorough probe. It is regrettable to note that even the local ministers and MLAs are silent, he said.

Further, he alleged that the failure of the authorities to conduct a narco analysis test of the  suspects in this case even four months after the court permitted the same, revealed the  irresponsiblity of the local MLA Moidin Bava. He also suspected that going by the developments, it seems as if there was a ploy to  hush up the case.

Dayanand Shetty, DYFI District Secretary, BM Imtiyaz, Jeevan Raj, Santosh Bajal, Charan Shetty and others participated in the protest.
