Mangalore: Even as the bundh call in Dakshina Kannada district opposing the implementation of the Netravathi Diversion Project on March 3 has left normal life in the city disrupted, there have been a few people who have tried to mitigate the hardships of those affected by the bundh.





Several travellers, hostelites and other PG residents around the city, who rely on hotel food were effected as there was no food available owing to the shutting down of all hotels and restaurants too in support of the bundh.But, a hotel at Nanthoor served snacks, tea and coffee to the hungry locals free of cost all through the day.
Joining the deed was Mangalore South MLA J R lobo, who distributed free food to all the passengers who have been starving due to the impact of the DK Bundh at KSRTC bus stand.
Leaders P V Mohan, Dennis D’Silva, T K Sudhir, Ramanand Bolar, Dinkar Shetty, Shashiraj Shetty Kolambe, M G Hegde, Jayakar Samarth, Nemiraj Shetty, Badruddin, Radhakrishna and others were present.
