Mangalore : St Aloysius College (autonomous) celebrated its 134th College Day on Friday March 7, in a grand manner.
Several talent based performances were displayed by the students and a cultural and entertainment extravaganza was the highlight of the event.















J R Lobo, MLA, Mangalore South, was the chief guest while Fr Denzil Lobo, Rector of St Aloysius College, presided over the function. Fr Sweebert D’Silva, Principal, St Aloysius College, presented the annual report.
In his presidential address, J R Lobo said, “Education is very important to accomplish the goals in the life and have a stand in the society; it prepares individuals to be significant members of the society. Through education students must make use of every opportunity and shape their growth and future.”
Fr Denzil Lobo, in his speech briefed about the college’s educational quality, their facilities, and benefits of studying in the college. He said, “The society still lacks the right approach towards education. Technology has moved ahead but we are still lagging behind.”
A prize distribution ceremony followed, during which a number of students were awarded for their achievements in extra-curricular activities and academics.
Dr A. M. Narahari, Registrar of the College, Dr George Rodrigues, Fr Pradeep, John D’Silva, Fr Walter Andrade, Judith Carlo, and Fr Oswald were also present at the ceremony. Ponnanna N T, President of the student council, proposed the vote of thanks. The whole College Day programme was compered by Neil, Rashmi, Razina, Pragathi, Alric, Genevieve, and Deepika Vasani.
