Rs 1.90 cr spent for Udupi road repairs: Pramod Madhwaraj

Udupi: MLA Pramodh Madhawaraj has informed that a sum of Rs 1.90 crore  has been spent towards road repair works  in Udupi till date.  He said a sum of Rs 70 lakh is spent for filling the potholes, while an additional Rs 46 lakh  has been  spent on repair works which were pending completion since the last two years.

Speaking to the media persons here, Pramod said Rs 3 crore will be released for the Paryaya Mahotsava from the CM fund. He said a proposal for Rs 6 crores  towards various  developmental works has been sent and once released it will be equally distributed among all the 35 awards.

The MLA said that 2.94 acres of land in Bannanje belonging to PWD has been identified for the construction of a KSRTC bus terminus. However, the formalities  of  handing over the land to the Transport Department from the PWD is not yet complete, he said.

He also informed that  discussions were on to allot land  near the service bus stand which housed the DDPI office earlier, to have  a bus terminus for the nearly 30 buses that are to be sanctioned to Udupi  under Jawaharlal Nehru National Rural Mission.
