Udupi: The seer of Kaniyur mutt Sri Vidyawallabhatheertha Swamiji who is set to attend Paryaya Peetha has said that palanquins would be carried in the open vehicle as per the suggestion given by the Pejawar mutt seer Sri Vishweshatheertha Swamiji. However, attempts will be made to convince Shiroor seer, he added.
Speaking to the media persons on Friday January 16 regarding to the controversy of palanquin which was raked up by the Shiroor mutt seer Sri Laxmivaratheertha Swamiji, the Kaniyur aid that he will hold discussion with Shiroor seer and hoped to convince him.
Regarding Paryaya Durbar , procession and participation of all Swamijis, he said that “invitation is given to all”. Retorting to a query over invitation he said “Since ages Ashta Mutt Sawmijis attend Paryaya Durbar, however it is not obligatory to attend.. He added that Puttige seer will be invite for the cultural programmes that is organized following the durbar.
The seer said that Dandatheertha for the holy dip will be at 2.30 am and Paryaya procession starts at 3. The ‘Paryaya Sarvajna Peetha’ ascending ceremony will at 5.50 am following which the Paryaya durbar will be held at 6 am in Rajanagana.
The procession will feature 17 tableaux that represent cultural tradition of the land. The outgoing Paryaya Sode Vadiraja mutt seer Sri Vishwavallabhatheertha Swamiji will be given ceremonial felicitation at around 9 pm on January 17.
He said that he is yet to take up the plans for developing the temple town during his Paryaya tenure however development will be based on long-term benefits.
The seer said the CM Siddharamaiah would not be able to attend the Paryaya celebrations owing to his prior commitments and busy schedule.
Minister for Urban Development Vinay Kumar Sorake, Minister for Higher Education and Tourism R V Deshpande, other public representative might who take part in the Paryaya celebrations.
